Sky Writings

Here's a story I had almost forgotten about until recently... It was inspired by a discussion on mark_asphodel's journal from a while back, about the lack of poison-related plots in FE 'fics.

My idea ended up being a FE7 story involving Priscilla, with a little bit of Lucius as well. (I'm sure you can see where this is going...)

In other news, I really wish I could've come up with something for the Crack Pairings challenge... *sigh*

This is my entry for the fe_contest challenge, "Flying through the rainbow sky." It's an FE7 story about Lloyd, with Linus thrown in for good measure. I hope I integrated the theme okay... (BTW, the song that this fanfic is named after has nothing to do with the story. ;P)

Still, I'm kind of happy I finished writing this in one sitting, though it may not have turned out exactly the way I first envisioned it. (And excuse the out-of-place use of Norse mythology, but it was the first idea that came to mind.)

September already? And it got so cold right away, too... (Not that I'm complaining; it's been a hot summer, and I hate heat.)

Anyways... Sorry I haven't been around; been playing a lot of video games lately: Lego Harry Potter (have a weakness for Lego games), Rock Band 2 (again)... But mostly I've been playing Dragon Age for the past month. (I haven't played a Bioware game in years, and since I've stopped playing WoW, I've needed a fantasy RPG fix of some sort. ;P)

In other news, I've decided to write something serious for the fe_contest challenge this month. ;P (Me, serious? With that prompt? Yep.) I was hoping to write something other than FE7, but I've already typed up the outline, so we'll see how well that goes...

This would've been my entry for the first challenge of fe_contest, if I didn't come up with the idea right before the deadline was up. XP Yep, it's a rehash of the age-old FE7 fandom debate, what sex is Lucius, really?

(I kind of wish I got the word count closer to 500, though... I can't seem to write things more than drabble-length, lately. :/)

Another sleepless night, another new writing idea. (I don't whether to be grateful that I'm writing, or annoyed that I'm not working on unfinished 'fic. XP)

Anyways... A lot of people like to write FE supports that never happened, myself included. So I decided to do a twist on this: why some supports never occurred. ;) Ironically, most of these are inspired by fake supports that I've written in the past... (BTW, none of these are more than 200 words.)

Ugh, can't seem to work on Burning Brand at the moment... I'm stuck on a rather tough chapter, where I have to rethink the entire battle scenario (secret passages don't exactly work in a Western, methinks). And for some reason, I feel like working on some other writing. :/ So annoying...

Anyways... I've been compiling a bunch of the plot ideas I've come up with, over the years; mostly Fire Emblem stuff, with a few FE8 ideas and a couple of Phoenix Wright ones, as well. These can all be found on my writing journal.

And to show that I'm not completely slacking (sort of), I'm posting an excerpt of an old, unfinished fic. (Pardon if it seems fragmented; although I'm considering finishing it, I'm afraid that it won't be any time soon...)

Whew, finally finished this... Got guests over for the holidays, so I won't be able to work on my writing much for the next few days or so... So, I've decided to finish up a couple of stories I've been meaning to complete. (I'm hoping to finish a short piece involving the Reed brothers, as well.)

In an effort to deduce the tactics of thieves, Hector "requests" a duel between Matthew and Leila. (Takes place pre-game.)

*ahem* Anyways... Got a couple of story ideas I've been thinking about. Mostly involving my Fire Emblem Western AU...

For some time now, I've been thinking of writing a couple of side stories in the Burning Brand universe (I was thinking of calling the series "Ridin' Side-Saddle" XD, but as I only have two solid plot ideas so far, I might just release them as separate stories).

"Lonesome Gunman" - A look into Erk's past, and how he became a hired gun. (No outline yet, but I just need to write it up...)

"A Night at the Saloon" - The guys of "Miss Lynette's Windrunners" have a night out at a saloon, to unwind a bit... But nothing ever goes as planned. (This would take place before Chapter 8 of Burning Brand, and therefore, would probably not be released before that time... Pity, 'cause I'm looking forward to writing it. ;)

And for something a little different, a regular FE story, with a holiday twist:

"The Holly and the Ivy" - Sain has a little fun with holiday foliage, at Kent's expense. (Warning for shonen-ai, but like most of my short pieces, it's supposed to be silly and light-hearted, and not to be taken seriously. ;)

The holiday piece will most likely be my next project, for obvious reasons... I'm also not sure when I'd write the side stories, as I'm still working on Burning Brand, at the moment. (Especially since I need to rework the battle scenario for the upcoming chapter... I have a sneaking suspicion that I won't be able to finish it till next year. XP)
