Nintendo Power had a small article on Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones in their latest issue. About 5 or 6 pages in length, it pretty much described the game mechanics, with some screenshots and artwork from the game (there was also a page on the upcoming GC game, as well).

However, I found that the most interesting part of the article was the interview with the people who translated the game (yes, these are the people who brought you L'archel and Cormag ;)P. It is funny to hear the translators talk about how they attempted to translate medieval European concepts from a Japanese point of view, and interpret them to an American point of view... (To be honest, I'm not sure how the POVs would differ from both cultural standpoints, but maybe that's just me...)

The latest issue of Newtype (I think it that was the US anime magazine, it wasn't Animerica) had short interviews with the dub voice actors from "Full Metal Alchemist"; asking what their favourite episodes were, and the like. (It is interesting to note that a lot of the actors listed eps 13 and 25 as a favourite...)

Of course, being an Al fangirl, I was interested to hear what his VA had to say... ;)P And I was pleasantly surprised to see that one of his fave scenes was when Al hid the kitty in his armour. XD

He also had an amusing anecdote about the bad habit he developed during dubbing, of leaning his stool back during recording... Naturally, this caused him to fall over one time, causing the recording of the resulting crash, his reaction, and the voice director asking if he was all right. (Just the thought of an outtake of Al's voice swearing his head off, strikes me as too funny!)

The other VAs' comments were interesting, as well; if anyone wants me to list any specific ones, let me know. (Although... Methinks Scar's VA enjoys the "head-asplody" thing *way* too much. 0_o;)

EDIT: BTW, interesting side note... The person who does Havoc's voice is the voice director of the show!

Hmmm... Perhaps I'll end up buying this magazine after all (I'm remembering all this stuff off the top of my head); the FMA interviews were the only things I really was interested in in this issue, but I guess I could always use it for drawing reference... ;)P
