An interesting discussion on writing fight scenes in Fire Emblem fanfics.

Although it degenerates into an argument about who's the better fantasy writer early on (which makes me LOL XD), there's some interesting tips in there; I also added in my two cents, although I don't know how useful my advice will be. ;P

I really do wish I could write more fight scenes; most of my writing is character driven, so I don't get the opportunity to do so (and it's hard to write an excuse for a one-on-one duel, which is what I prefer to write).

I think I can count on one hand the amount of fight scenes I've written (most of them short): a Linus vs. Raven duel which I still rather like; a gratuitous Matthew vs. Leila one; I guess that FE Western I put on hold had a few; and that Ranma one I did long ago (because skating martial arts also makes me LOL).

Anyways... I just need to write, in general. :/ I'm just not feeling inspired, lately...

Ugh, looks like FF.net decided to strip some symbols from older stories, now. I need to remember to go back and check which stories need to be reposted, since I used asterisks and ampersands as dividers for some of my older fics... What a pain. (Not to mention that the brackets and other symbols will be stripped from the old story summaries once I do the repost... Bleah.)

I'm so glad I use xXxXx as dividers now, they can't take those away... I hope. :P

Nothing like deleting tons of e-mail spam, then checking out FF.net... To find out someone has plagerized one of your fics in your absence. >.<

Luckily, the culprit seems to have been caught right away, since I can't find the plagerized fic (apparently, somebody copied "Double-Edged Sword"). I find that kind of odd, since the premise for that story is fairly unique; a Carlyle/Ismea story? You'd think they'd realize someone would notice...

Reminds me of the time "Sain's Guide to Dating" got plagerized on FF.net, way back when... I'm not sure whether I should be flattered or annoyed, imitation being the sincerest form of flattery, and what not...

Nah, I'm annoyed. -_-; But at least this may induce me to actually try and finish the story. ^_^;

The amount of Fire Emblem fics on FF.net has hit exactly 1000. (Pretty sizable, compared to some of the other video game sections; though it comes nowhere close to the size of the more popular series, such as the Final Fantasy series or Zelda.)

The Tales of Symphonia section is at 1020.

Just a random observation... No point to it, really. ;)P

Hmmm... I see FE8 has its first journal-style fanfic on FF.net; one from the POV of Lute, no less. :/ I decided to give it the benefit of the doubt and take a look at it (mostly because of the FE8 C2 I run), but I found myself hastily hitting the back button after reading the first paragraph. -_-;

I guess I can be honest, now... I was never a big fan of "The Diary of Erk", a once-popular Fire Emblem fanfic upon which this story is based. (Though the author did refer to one of my stories in the later chapters. ^_^;) And I certainly didn't think much of all the knock-offs it spawned, at the time... Mostly OOC and mediocrely written, are the nicest things I can say about them.

Well, I finished editing the lyrics out of two of my stories on FF.net, as per their new rule (aka no more songfics).

While I know this will get rid of the angsty songfics that are set to Evanescence(sp?) and are mostly lyrics, I'm kind of cranky that I had to edit my older fics, since a lot of the formatting in my backup files isn't allowed anymore. :P (And using underlines to replace the asterisks looks odd to me...)

I'm also rather worried about my FMA song parody, as well; I don't want to take it down, but would it fall into that catagory? I rewrote the lyrics, though... :/

EDIT: Oh hell, I just noticed that anything violating the "no lyrics" rule might result in account closure. Looks like I may have to take down the song parody just in case, since I'd like to keep what few reviews I have, thank you very much. >:P

Well, I had been considering this for some time, but I finally got around to doing it; I created a C2 dedicated to "Fire Emblem: Seima no Kouseki" stories. ^_^

This may sound presumptious, but I figured I should create one before the game is released in the US and the Fire Emblem section is filled with FE8 crap. If anyone has any other stories they want to suggest for the comm (or just want to join ^_~), just tell me, and I'll add it.

(BTW, FF.net ate my C2 description, that's why it looks like I can't type. :P)

Well, it's been almost a year since I joined the dreaded Pit of Voles... So, that means it's been over a year since I started writing for Fire Emblem. ^_^ (I can't seem to pinpoint the exact date, since GameFAQs doesn't archive their messages... -_-;) I've written like 12 stories for FE now, all over the past year (and more writing than I've done since I first came onto the 'Net!).

Now, I'm not an English major like most you on my Friends list... Though I enjoy writing, I prefer to write everything in one sitting, if possible; also, I aim to be entertaining, if not necessarily grammatically correct. ;)P

That being said... I'd like to take a moment to thank everyone on my Friends list who puts up with supports my mediocre FE writings... Thanks. ^_^

Hmmm... Maybe it's just me, but this is one of the more interesting concepts for an FE fic I've seen in a while. (Now, if the author will just follow through... ^_~)

(BTW, apologies for the double-post... -_-;)
