Really enjoying playing SWTOR at the moment. :D The SO convinced a bunch of WoW guildies and RL friends to join us, and we managed to get our guild imported to the Mind Trick server. (The funny part is, most of the servers seem to be named after names and places in Star Wars, yet we end up on the one named after the Jedi mind trick...)

Anyways, most of us ended up playing the Empire side, and my first character was a Cyborg Bounty Hunter, Carlyle. (Yes, named after FE8's Carlyle, except she's female. All my characters are girls this time around, because I was much more interested in the female love interests and wasn't going to bet on same sex replationships eventually showing up in Bioware's first MMO. :/)

I'm also playing all my characters Light side; even if you play the Empire side, it doesn't detract from your gameplay. (It just means that my Bounty Hunter freezes a lot of people in carbonite. XD Although sometimes, you run into people you really want to kill and can't unless you want to accrue Dark side points...) Oh, and my favorite Bounty Hunter ability by far is Death from Above; so appropriately named. <3

I really like the Bounty Hunter companions, as well: Mako is a sweetheart (and I'm glad I played a girl, because she gives off a little sister vibe - and seeing other people dress her up in the slave girl outfit really squicks me because of it XP); Gault reminds me of Legault except with more of a sleazy car salesman vibe (I almost wish he was romancable, escpecially when you find out about his past - very Legault); Blizz the Jawa is adorably affectionate, and even Skadge is charmingly psychotic. XD

In fact, the only companion I'm disappointed in is the female love interest, Torian Cadera. He's a Mandalorian obsessed with hunting - almost too much, in my mind. (I was half hoping he might be somewhat like Zuko what with his facial scars and the relationship with his estranged father, but no.) And I found his voice acting monotone at times, which is a shame, because I don't usually mind his VA. Here's an example of in-game dialogue with him that made me LOL:

Me: Torian, you're my arm candy.
Torian: Ma'am.

Dude. No reaction at all? *sigh* Oddly enough, Torian is my favorite companion to accompany me on missions, because he's the only real melee DPS in my crew and I'm a ranged attacker (even if I do get the poor guy killed... A lot).

Onto my second character, a Zabrak Sith Warrior, Pirotess. (Zabrak is the same race that Darth Maul is.) I really wasn't very excited about about playing this character at first - I almost never play melee characters in WoW, and I'd much prefer playing casters or ranged, but since my SO was playing a Sith Inquistor (as does everybody else, LOL), I thought levelling with him as a Warrior would make things much easier.

So yeah, not so enthused about playing the warrior. Then I got a really good look at the first love interest for the female Sith Warrior, and thought, this might not be so bad...

This is Malavai Quinn:

If I could design a character that was my physical ideal, he'd be pretty damn close. Dark hair, blue eyes, and even a pair of moles on his cheek for interest (and has earned him the fan name of Molevai XD). Add to that the uniform and the British accent that all Imperial officers have, and I was sold.

Personality-wise, he actually reminds me of a darker Kent. The first time you meet him, he's chewing out a subordinate (didn't deter me one bit though XP). But he's very by the book, "for the Empire", uptight Imperial Officer type. (Which has unfortunate implications when I kept mentally comparing the Imperial officers and Sith to Nazis in game...)

And where I was disappointed with Torian, it was not so with Quinn. Quinn's fun to prod. ;) And challenging too; I could easily gain affection points with Torian if I flirted enough; not so with Quinn. And not all of his convo choices are so straightforward; he can be honourable to the enemy, and occasionally won't put up with superiors who abuse their authority. (He's a good Dark side companion, actually; I've heard him described him as Lawful Neutral, which is pretty accurate.) And he heals like a boss; unlike a lot of my other companions, he almost never lets my melee DPSing self die. (I actually managed to get him a jacket that looked his original uniform jacket; I am never changing it. ;P)

Yeah, I'm utterly smitten with Quinn. (But I'm not the only one because apparently he has a Tumblr dedicated to him.) Now if I could only get Quinn to stop addressing me as "my lord" constantly, especially when the other members of the crew start doing it too. (I wish my Warrior could threaten everyone with Force Choke so they'd stop...)

As for the other Warrior companions, Vette the Twi'lek also gives the same sisterly vibe that Mako does; not so impressed with the rest of the crew, though. I almost wish I turned the Jedi girl Dark side to make her more interesting (even though the storyline to acquire her was quite gripping at times, and plays out well even if you're Light side). Perhaps I'd be more interested in the rest of the crew if I didn't adore Quinn so much. ;P
