This is the dub VA for Edward Elric doing a parody of a WoW commercial. :D (To be honest, he doesn't seem to be using his "Ed" voice in it, but it's still amusing... To me at least. ;)

And on a related topic, I always get incensed when people rip on people who do the English dub voices for anime... Sure, there are some terrible dubs out there (Sailor Moon comes to mind, even though I have fond memories of the show), but most dubs these days are very well-done.

I always want to smack those elitist bastards who say that all dubs suck; some people have to watch, say, Cartoon Network to watch any anime, rather than download it all off the internet, you know...

Okay, got that out of my system. (Sorry about that, it really is one of my hot buttons. >:P)

Oh, I agree completely (on dubbed anime). I actually prefer to watch the English version. Why? Because I miss so much stuff if I'm busy reading subtitles. Now, like you said, there are some terrible dubs out there, but despite all that, I don't think they completely ruined a show for me. (Dragon Ball Z is still awesome, even with the bad voice acting they sometimes had!) On the other hand, some anime I like to watch both versions (English, then Japanese), just to get a better grasp of what's happening and the differences between the versions.

Actually, even though I (used to) love anime (hardcore), I never really got into the elitist mindset. Perhaps it's because I always have felt that it's the actual heart of the show that matters, not who is speaking the words, and if they're doing a fabulous job or not. Not to mention, a lot of those elitist bastards think that they could have done a better job. Well...yeah right. Needless to say, it's no cakewalk, and I'm sure the voice actors did try their best.

It's a hot thing for me, too... I get pretty tense when people tell me that I can't possibly love anime, because I don't watch the real version. >_

Oh, I agree. Dubs these days aren't what they used to be, and while I freely admit that in any anime or game I WILL listen to the Japanese version over the English version if the option is available as I feel it's how the original creators intended the characters to sound (plus there are some things in Japanese which don't translate well in English, such as, well, random Engrish), there are very few dubs nowadays that make me want to scrape my eardrums out.

Besides, in those cases, it's usually the work of an individual voice-actor or two anyway that drags the quality of something down, but guess what? Japan has bad voice-actors (sorry, seiyuu) too and grating, horrible voice-acting also exists in Japanese versions of things. So I feel the whole "all dubs suck, subs r superiar!!1" argument is a really stupid one.
