*stares at the actor pics for live-action Avatar*
Gah, Katara and Sokka look so... White. :/ I'm beginning to see what all the fuss was about when casting for the movie; being of Asian descent myself (my parents are Filipino), I'm somewhat disappointed.
Seriously, you couldn't find a couple of actors who looked more like the characters, to play the roles? (I know appearances shouldn't matter, but...) At least Aang and Zuko look more like their parts, I guess (although having a darker-skinned actor as one of the "villains" annoys me, for some reason).
EDIT: I feel I have explain why this ticks me off so much... You rarely get to see any dark-skinned heroines on TV, and since I have fairly brown skin, Katara is a character someone of my colouration could concievably cosplay (or Ember Island Katara, considering my current weight ;P).
Because of this, I also get annoyed at villains being dark-haired all the time; I really want to write a blonde villainess (not white-blonde, just blonde) one of these days...
