My cat Ivy is very sick again. I was taking a nap this afternoon when I awoke to him meowing very loudly; this was because his hind legs weren't working.

This has happened before, so the first thing I did was bring Ivy to the nearby animal hospital. Easier said than done, since my sweetie is out of town (he'll be back tonight). So I had to walk with a plaintively mewing cat in a carrier, on a hot day; still not sure I should've moved him, but I guess it was the right thing to do (it's what saved him the last time).

You see, Ivy has an enlarged heart; last time, that's what cut off the circulation to his legs. Sounds like he has a blood clot this time; I really hope he'll be okay...

All in all, not a pleasant way to spend my birthday.

I'm waiting for the phone call from the vet now... I still need to take a shower and clean the house; maybe that'll take my mind off this for a bit (and having to break the news to my sweetie; Ivy is his particular cat). Sigh...
