I always thought that Adrian just wore very loose clothing to disguise the fact that he was really a woman... And after searching through some of the Cybersix sites, they do confirm that she is indeed always female (in fact, they also explain why her alter-ego is male).
I'd also have the agree that the show is very anime-like; in fact, Cybersix happens to be a joint Japanese/Canadian production. ^_^ Oddly enough, the series itself is based on a very dark Argentinian comic, of all things... (I had presumed the series was French, myself. ^_^;)
BTW, I can understand why you'd prefer Adrian over Cybersix herself; he is such a sweetie. ^_~
