My own Quinn thoughts

Nice blog. I like analyzing Quinn myself based on his behavior and hints dropped in the game. I know I'm months late to post but I'm going to do it anyway since what you say here nearly mirrors my own thoughts. Maybe you will get it at some point if you are still working on any of this.

To start with, YES. There is a magical attractiveness to Quinn that goes beyond those tip-tilted blue eyes, despite the fact that he whines sometimes and is a bit of a pessimist early on. I guess he's earned it after being trod under a superior's foot for doing the right thing and then taken up as a tool by an opportunistic Sith Lord. Baras likely milked it and dangled redemption just out of reach for who knows how long. But when Quinn takes charge he really takes charge. He's confident and steady and knows what needs to be done and how to get it done. He's mentally brilliant. What is not to like? Even though we never see it, he supposedly can also fly the paint off a starship.

-A Wealthy Family? Most likely as he is an Imperial Officer to start with. But not so wealthy or well placed to bail him out and save his career. He's always said "Meh" to me about Luxury items, though. He actually has no "loves" like other companions but he does get a bit fired up about Imp memorabilia and a new weapon to add to his collection.

The no "loves" thing says a lot about him also. Such as the possibility that something happened in his past that hurt bad enough that he won't allow himself to become attached to items or people. We've already seen how he keeps his distance from the crew under the cover that it is militarily inappropriate. Or possibly his ambition makes him indifferent.

-Child of a loveless marriage. Definitely. The man is a walking old wound that he hides behind ridged discipline. He's been around the block and seen a few battles. I refuse to believe that his flustered reactions to women is due to being naive. I think that he wards himself off so deeply and is constantly plotting, thinking and planning to the point that he is merely taken by surprise and can't get his thoughts organized.

-Father was a patriot. Possibly. I have a different theory and my story arcs go as such: Quinn's parents are dead and in his early teens he became the ward of the planetary government, which was obviously Imperial. Military ambition was logical and expected.

I take it a step further in saying that his mother is Sith. When Mal showed no potential she demised his Dad and took off. Like the majority of Sith she met her end at the hands of another Sith or she did one of those mystery disappearances. In my mind Malavai actually has "some" ability but it is so weak and consciously inaccessible as to be of no consequence. There are a few in game moments that lead me to think he's got something extremely faint going on that he knows nothing about.

I play a male Sith Warrior and I laugh at your mention of writing a M/M type story for Quinn. My stories I'm working on involves my Sith being extremely attracted to Quinn despite Quinn being straight. I prefer him that way and I'm glad BW said they had no plans to change that. For me it adds so much interesting one sided tension for as long as Quinn is unaware of it.

Anyway, enjoyed the read. I need to get off my hump and finish my writings and get them posted hehe.
