Oh. Um. Wow.

Just read the latest FMA manga; can't wait to see how they resolve this. O_o

I must say, Fullmetal Alchemist has to have the most well-rounded plot I've ever read in a manga, IMO; no really drawn-out storylines, and every character introduced has been relevant in some way. I have a few minor quibbles, but overall, I've been very impressed. Can't wait to see how they end the manga (which is soon!)

Also, FMA: Brotherhood is debuting on Adult Swim this Saturday; I can't wait to see the new dub! (And on TV no less! :D)

I could go on what I really like (and don't like) about FMA, but I may save that for later. ;)

Been reading the recent FMA manga... I forgot how awesome Roy and Riza are. <3 So glad my Warcraft characters are named after them, even though I don't necessarily live up to their namesakes. XD

Checking out the new FMA anime now... Going to need something new to watch now that the Tales of the Abyss anime is over. :( Like I mentioned to someone, the new FMA series may be restarting from the beginning, but at least it isn't endless filler like most anime, these days... >_>

*watching episode* Eee, Al! I missed you, too! <3 (I wonder if it's true that the English dub voices for Ed and Al will be the same, like the Japanese ones? 'Cause I love Al's voice, even though he may be grown up by now... ;)

EDIT: Cut for mild FMA anime spoilers )

I was PvPing on my fire mage Roy Mustang earlier, when someone asks me, "Are you a real mustang?" This prompts me to reply, "Um, no?"

Now, I'm used to people asking if I'm named after the character from FMA, or even if I own a Mustang (the car XD). But I was thinking he meant if I was the member of a sports team or something. ^_^;

So the guy proceeds to explain to me that a "mustang" is an enlisted soldier who goes to college and becomes an officer, or an officer who is killed and gets field promoted to officer. I thought that was an interesting fact, and that the definition actually fits Roy well... Well, the first one, anyways. ;) (Kind of reminds of me when I stumbled across a relevant dictionary definition while I was reading "A Separate Peace" in 9th Grade, and found out that Brinker's name suited him very well; a "brinker" being someone who talks about going to war, but never actually does it.)

This has been Avi's nerdy moment of the day; we will now return you to your regularly scheduled fangirling.

The latest issue of Newtype (I think it that was the US anime magazine, it wasn't Animerica) had short interviews with the dub voice actors from "Full Metal Alchemist"; asking what their favourite episodes were, and the like. (It is interesting to note that a lot of the actors listed eps 13 and 25 as a favourite...)

Of course, being an Al fangirl, I was interested to hear what his VA had to say... ;)P And I was pleasantly surprised to see that one of his fave scenes was when Al hid the kitty in his armour. XD

He also had an amusing anecdote about the bad habit he developed during dubbing, of leaning his stool back during recording... Naturally, this caused him to fall over one time, causing the recording of the resulting crash, his reaction, and the voice director asking if he was all right. (Just the thought of an outtake of Al's voice swearing his head off, strikes me as too funny!)

The other VAs' comments were interesting, as well; if anyone wants me to list any specific ones, let me know. (Although... Methinks Scar's VA enjoys the "head-asplody" thing *way* too much. 0_o;)

EDIT: BTW, interesting side note... The person who does Havoc's voice is the voice director of the show!

Hmmm... Perhaps I'll end up buying this magazine after all (I'm remembering all this stuff off the top of my head); the FMA interviews were the only things I really was interested in in this issue, but I guess I could always use it for drawing reference... ;)P

Somebody just asked me if they could use my FMA song parody for a cosplay skit at a con! XD I don't know if anything will come of it, but that certainly made my day... (Heh, I'm so vain. ^_^;)

EDIT: On an FMA-related note (and so this post isn't only about self-pimpage ^_^;) here's the image I'm currently using as my desktop wallpaper; I edited out some people in the picture so it would look a little better as a wallpaper. (Not my best edit job, but since this was pretty much for my own personal use, that didn't really matter... And I resized it from the original 800x600 'cause I'm weird like that. ;)P

Yeah, disregard my previous post. I ended up writing a song parody of Gilbert & Sullivan's "I am a Very Model..." with Roy Mustang singing the lyrics, anyways. >:D

C'mon, click the link. You know you want to. Please...? 0_0

EDIT: Aw, screw it... To save from reposting this again, I just cut and pasted the story in here instead, over the lyrics I originally posted. ;)P

I will NOT write a song parody of Gilbert & Sullivan's "I Am The Very Model of a Modern Major-General" with Roy Mustang singing the lyrics... No matter how great the temptation is.

But... The image of him singing this song is so strong in my head right now; along with the other soldiers singing back up (and Riza's look of exasperation in the background)... XD

...

*wanders off to look up lyrics*

Yeah, I wrote Full Metal Alchemist fanfic. Be afraid. Be very afraid. -_-;

This is just a short piece of introspection from Al's point of view, which wouldn't let me sleep last night until I had written it (damn you, inspiration!) For those of you familiar with FMA, please, please, let me know if I have all the details right, and if I've kept everyone in character.

This has spoilers for episode... Um, I can't remember. ^_^; Needless to say, it's got spoilers for the episodes that have been aired in the U.S., so far.

You know you've got FMA on the brain when you immediately think this piece of fanart has Al and Ed in it. XD

I should've known it was Frantz and Forde, since Kent and Sain are also in the pic... (I had to run the page through Babelfish before I found out who they really were. ^_^;)

I guess this adds to the theory that Frantz & Forde from FE8 = Al & Ed from FMA... ^_~

EDIT: Bardiche has just pointed out to me that it's Seth and Kyle in the pic as well, not Kent and Sain. Duh on my part... *^_^*

In case you didn't know, World of Warcraft is a online fantasy RPG by the makers of Diablo... And it is just as fun, if not more so, than Diablo. ^_^

So I spent the entire long weekend helping watching my sweetie level up his character, a (mino)Tauran warrior named Don Karnage; whenever he needed a break in gameplay, I took over, even though I get killed more often than he does. ^_^; (BTW, he just bought the game on the day before Thanksgiving, and already his character is nearly up to level 20...)

Yes, we are indeed hardcore gamers... God, I love that man. XD

On a different note... Is it just me, or do these two look like non-anime versions of Roy Mustang from FMA? 0_o;

Oh, and is it wrong to find Roy hot, even though I haven't seen enough of him in the series to really judge his character...? *^_^*

OMG, tonight's Megas XLR featured a Space Captain Harlock clone! And they turned him into a poetry-spouting, rose-carrying ladykiller to boot! XD

Let's see... That cartoon has shamelessly parodied Battle of the Planets, Sailor Moon, and Space Captain Harlock so far... (I can't wait for the episode with the Super Mario Bros. cameos you can see in the bumpers. ^_~)

EDIT: I see Roy has just appeared in Full Metal Alchemist... *steels herself for the possible wank*

Oh, and I may indeed end up fangirling Al... ^_^; Yes, I know he's just a suit of armour now, but he's such a little sweetheart! (For some reason, I seem to have a thing for younger brother characters... Sometimes I worry if I have a pedophilic streak in me, somewhere. ^_^;)

Well, just saw my first episode of FMA... And I can't say I was disappointed. ^_~ I usually can judge how much I'll like a series right off the bat, and I've got a good feeling about this one... (The best impression I've gotten about a series in a while!) I may also end up becoming a fan of Al. ^_^; (He has such the cutest younger brother voice echoing in that armour! Aw...)

The only thing that worries me are the religious overtones of the show; that sort of thing might get it banned from the airwaves if the fundamentalists ever catch a glimpse of FMA. -_-; (I'm probably worrying about nothing, but you never know...)

Of course, my primary opinion of the show may be influenced by all you FMA fangirls out there... ;)P
